**Job description**
- An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Specialist to join the Operational Risk and Resilience Team. The team covers a diverse portfolio of operational risk, from Cyber security to Outsourcing and third parties; across the full range of Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI) providers (from UK Central Counter Parties to UK Payment Systems). You will be shaping our analytical approach to assess operational risk frameworks and resilience capabilities. Working alongside Supervision, your work will ensure FMI providers are operationally robust and resilient under both stable and stress conditions.
- In this role you will be leading the development of assessment frameworks and using your technical knowledge to provide advice and analysis that support regulatory judgements.
- The role is well suited to someone with an operational risk background (across any discipline) and experience of developing analytical frameworks. You will play a key role in developing our operational risk and resilience strategy and shaping our expectations against new Policy initiatives. In this role you will:
- Lead the delivery of robust analytical findings that make links across key risk and resilience concepts and inform supervisory judgements (through both deep dive technical and thematic reviews)-
- Provide analytical expertise to support the assessment and challenge of firms’ frameworks for managing operational risks and resilience capabilities.-
- Provide thoughtful and construction technical operational risk and resilience advice to colleagues on complex issues, offering solutions and defining good risk management/resilience practices where appropriate-
- Develop and maintaining working relationships with internal (and external) stakeholders-
- Actively contribute to horizon scanning and the cross-FMI assessments of operational risk and resilience**Role Requirements**

**Minimum**
**Criteria**- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the operational risk and resilience regulatory landscape and current challenges facing financial firms-
- Strong judgement and analytical skills; able to evaluate multiple sources of information, prioritising, solve complex problems and develop tangible solutions.-
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; able to influence senior stakeholders and distil technical content in a way that is accessible to non-specialists.-
- Experience of supporting Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and encouraging others to do the same.**Desirable Criteria**- Prior knowledge of financial market infrastructure, either payment systems or CCPs-
