Boeing Defence UK is offering the opportunity to join their class leading SMS team in providing Product and Service Safety. The successful individual will be joining one of the best SMS teams in Europe who are helping to design and develop the wider Boeing SMS during what is an exciting time for the industry as SMS is expanded into new areas of aviation. The BDUK P&SS team of 20 experienced core specialists and deployed safety officials is looking for SMS Training Specialist to join them as they expand their SMS.

The post holder is required to support the development and execution of Safety Management System Training and course design throughout BDUK. This is a Full-Time role based at either Boscombe Down, Middle Wallop, Odiham, Gosport or Bristol with some hybrid working options.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
The BDUK SMS Training Specialist role assists the SMS P&T Lead in providing SMS Promotion and Training throughout BDUK. In particular the following responsibilities and activities are carried out to deliver that support:

- Assist the SMS P&T Lead in the BDUK SMS and HF Training courses design, development and continuous improvement.
- Assist the SMS P&T Lead in planning and the delivery of BDUK SMS and HF Training courses.
- Establish course administration standards and metrics for overseeing competency and currency within the Centrik tool.
- Support the SMS P&T Lead’s engagement with the Boeing Enterprise over SMS training design standards and governance.
- Support the SMS P&T Lead to create and deliver specialist SMS training, initial HF and continuation training to support SMS team competency.
- Assist the SMS P&T Lead to maintain HF and SMS training delivery standards when required.
- Conduct Safety Investigations in support of BDUK SMS development when required.

Travel within the UK is expected and some overseas travel may be required.

**Essential competencies**:

- Appropriate course development and/or design experience
- Formal Safety Management Systems training and experience
- Completed or working towards a formal qualification in Safety Management.
- Formally qualified Human Factors Facilitator-Instructor, to Civil or Military Standard.
- HF or CRM Examiner or Instructor experience, ideally in a military environment
- Investigator experience undertaking MEDA or other relevant incident/event investigation standards
- Appropriate instructional and facilitation experience, ideally in SMS or HF training disciplines.
- The role will have significant customer, supplier and wider Boeing interfaces and, therefore, a person who is diplomatic whilst being strong minded is essential.
- Prior experience in flying, engineering or support activities in the aviation industry or equivalent experience as an Education specialist.
- Demonstrate the ability to take the initiative and work unsupervised on the planning of work.
- Ability to effectively identify and execute opportunities to improve strategies, processes and project plans.
- Demonstrate the ability to achieve successful interactions across multi-discipline teams
