**About the role and our team**
The Public Estates and Housing Division within the Department of Infrastructure is seeking a Head of Housing who will lead a busy customer facing team delivering Housing Operations, Housing Maintenance and Affordable Housing.
You will be responsible for leading in the development of housing policy, strategy and ensuring it is operationally deliverable for the IOM Government. The post will be a vital role to develop policies which deliver the Island Plan objectives for Housing and related areas for Isle of Man communities.
You will act corporately by active contribution as a member of the Public Estates and Housing Leadership Team, and work in participation with other Government Departments, Tynwald Members, Local Authorities’ and relevant external sector organisations. This will include producing evidence based, well-informed, specialist housing advice to senior officials and Ministers to work corporately to achieve and ensure the housing objectives within the Island’s Plan are met.
The ability to lead people, communicate well, work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise workloads is key to the role. You will also be required to deliver significant policy/strategy/planning work as prioritised by a relevant Board.
