MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Community Safety Assistant to join a local authority based in London.

As Community Safety Assistant, you will be working with Community Safety Officers, and Community Safety Team Managers to support projects across the business unit. Reporting directly to the Community Safety Team Manager you will support in the following areas:

- Community Harm and Exploitation (including youth violence)
- Drugs and Criminal Justice
- Violence against women and girls
- Women's safety
- Reducing reoffending

Main Duties:

- Undertake research and analysis of new and developing issues, gathering information and intelligence
- Preparing reports identifying issues and recommendations for management
- Develop project proposals in response to Community Safety Partnership and Council plan
- Manage projects in line with objectives set by more senior officers
- Support the monitoring and reporting of performance information
- Plan, coordinate and evaluate events such as public consultation meetings, conferences and seminars and community roadshows
- Pro-actively update relevant Council officers and other staff on relevant projects, initiatives, best practice and legislation changes
- Plan, co-ordinate and support partnership meetings, such as the Community Safety Partnership and sub-groups

Person Specification:

- Knowledge of the community safety agenda and inner city issues
- Knowledge of commissioning process
- Experience of organising meetings and events
- Experience of reviewing, collating, analysing and summarising information
- Strong IT skills
