**Summary.**

As a Finance Assistant, you will report directly to the Accountant Manager. Your responsibility will be to support day-to-day accounting procedures within the Private Sector Finance Team

It is important that you have an understanding of the overall finance function, reconciliation work and that you are solution orientated.

Teamwork is key in this role so it is important that you can confidently communicate with your colleagues, as well as customers and suppliers.

The tasks to be undertaken will be varied and there will be the requirement to multi-task.

Once established in the Finance role, you will be asked to assist other departments with administrative support. This could be Sales Admin, HR Admin or tasks around the general smooth running of the Cambridge office.

**Duties and Responsibilities**.
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Bank reconciliation including foreign currency
- Global Credit Control
- Employee Expenses
- Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting in the preparation of Year End Audits
- Health + Safety / Office administration
- Support other financial functions

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**.

**Essential**:

- At least one year’s experience in a similar role
- Understanding of accounting processes
- Experience of using Accounting Software
- Great communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Plan and effectively prioritise own workload
- High attention to detail
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task

**Desirable**:

- Bookkeeping / Finance qualification
- Desire to improve systems and control
