**Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller**

**Financial reporting**

The role will have responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting:

- Accurate and timely management accounts. This document is the main focus of the Board and as such needs to constantly evolve to show trends and potential issues. Full commentary is required and as such proficiency in report writing is a necessary skill.Timeliness is also fundamentally important.
- Monthly Board Pack ownership.
- Weekly investor and lender reporting.
- Financial accounts and liaising with external auditors.
- Royalty reporting.
- Lender covenant reporting.

**Budgeting and forecasting**

Bi-annual budgeting and rolling 13-weekly cashflow forecasting are key outputs from this role. To this end, a track record of using forecasting software or forecasting using advanced excel skills is necessary.

**Payroll**

Key contact for all things payroll related. This includes processing and payment of monthly payroll which is calculated by a 3rd Party.

**Tax**

All aspects of HMRC reporting re encompassed by this role including monthly UK and Irish VAT returns, Intrastat and EC Sales submissions, PAYE, and corporation tax quarterly payments on account.

**Controls**

Managing the control environment sits squarely within this role. Not only does this mean ensuring reconciliations are completed, it requires forward-looking to ensure that preventative controls are in place to avoid problems occurring in the first place.
