Head of Payroll

**Group Head of Payroll (Fixed Term Contract to July 2024)**

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Head of Payroll is part of our Group Finance Senior Leadership team. Responsible for all payroll activity across a large business (c 15,000 colleagues), the role works closely with Finance, Business Systems and People Services teams as a strategic partner to deliver payroll related projects, monitor compliance, oversee delivery of payroll services, and build capabilities to meet business strategy through payroll processes. The role will have full responsibility for the delivery of BAU payroll services, compliance and change projects.

The role is influential in driving all payroll programmes and initiatives across the PAH Group, including but not limited to payroll service delivery, payroll team performance and talent management, system improvement, automation, and simplification. Offering advice and guidance on best practice and policy to leaders and managing complex payroll system changes is part of the role.

The Head of Payroll will lead a team of three direct reports, and a wider team of 20+.

**About your experience**
- In depth knowledge of payroll and T&A systems as well as data integrations.
- Ability to deliver payroll projects and compliance.
- Great planning, prioritisation, and organisation skills
- A proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, partnering senior leadership teams
- A team player who can operate in a matrix structure.
- Great judgement and decision-making skills.
- You will be an ambassador for change and able to support others during periods of change.
- Able to manage priorities between payroll service delivery, payroll project delivery, and payroll compliance delivery.

It would be advantageous, although not essential, if you have previous experience of transformation, and knowledge of SAP payroll.
