**Salary**: Starting at £23,000 depending on experience (**pro rata**)

**Full & Part time positions available**: part-time 3 days a week (days negotiable). Potential for additional hours.

**Contract**:Permanent

**Resolve it** is a not-for-profit organisation empowering young people through personal safety and self-defence education in a variety of settings. Using our unique 'four steps to safety' we teach students how to keep themselves safe using skills in awareness, avoidance, dialogue, and action (as a last resort). Our workshops and assemblies are age-appropriate, and tailored to the needs of students, covering topics including peer to peer abuse, healthy relationships, knife crime, and how to protect yourself if faced with a physical threat. Delivery can be as a stand alone session, lunch-time activity, or part of the Health & Well-Being Curriculum.

We are looking for energetic team players, experienced in developing and delivering fun and engaging education-based workshops, who would thrive in both education and fitness settings.

NOTE: responsibilities include travelling to and from educational settings (expenses covered), working in schools and other educational institutions. Additionally, you will be required to attend a variety of training sessions including 2 hours a week off-site for team self-defence classes with our lead instructor.

A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

A satisfactory enhanced DBS certificate is required before employment can commence.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Developing engaging age-appropriate workshops to educate young people on issues of personal safety
- Leading and participating in the delivery of workshops and assemblies, to include teaching low-level self defence techniques
- Training teachers, youth workers and others to effectively deliver Resolve it content
- Actively participating in team meetings to discuss and develop workshop content and report on activities.
- Independently travelling to varying locations across Cardiff and the Vale (and other locations within South Wales if required)
- Contribute to the development of online educational resources
- Representing Resolve it at events and conferences if required
- Building relationships and networking to enhance services
- Supporting other team members and departments
- Contributing to whole company development/improvement, planning, implementation and evaluation

We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and creative communicator who is able to independently organise and carry out their work without close supervision.

**Essential Credentials**
- Engaging and enthusiastic delivery style
- Team player
- Experience creating and delivering exciting, innovative lessons and/or workshops for a variety of audiences
- Confident and able to manage large groups of children and young people
- Ability to plan and deliver a range of engaging educational sessions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to confidently represent Resolve it in a range of forums,
- Knowledge of current key issues of personal safety and self-defence or willingness to complete relevant training
- Full driving licence and vehicle
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS certification
- Confident in a physical environment

**Desirable**
- Experience of working in the education system/ youth sector in Wales
- A related degree or other relevant qualification
- Ability to plan and deliver sessions through the medium of Welsh
- Experience of monitoring, evaluating and/or reporting on own work activities and their impact
- Experience with or knowledge in self-defence

**Contract details**
- Salary starting £23,000 depending on experience
- Contract duration: Permanent
- Full-time (9-5 Monday to Friday)
- Annual leave: 28 days including bank holidays
