**Job title: Student Services Officer**
**Contract: Full time (6mont probationary period)**
**Salary: £18,000-£20,000 depending on experience**

**Hours: 9am-5pm Mon-Fri (1 hour lunch break)**
- **Please note all applicants should be aware this is not a homeworking position and we do require attendance to the office**_

The purpose of role is to be responsible for student services and welfare, including dealing with enrolments, reporting, student surveys, student certification, reviews and general questions are queries.

**2. Person specification Qualifications**:

- A levels or equivalent (desirable)
- GCSE grades A-C or equivalent
- Safeguarding training (desirable)

**Skills and Experience Essential**:

- Proactive team working skills;
- Sound IT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel, Teams);
- Experience using social media (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) for marketing purposes;
- Ability to complete tasks alone with precision, and to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines;
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with students and staff;
- Willingness to learn and expand skills;
- Willingness to call and engage students and employers

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of/experience working in the FE industry

**3. Role, Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Act as a first point of contact for prospective and existing students, answering enquiries and dealing with queries;
- Complete full initial presentation with prospective students and vet them to ensure they are enrolling onto the correct qualification
- Complete and chase pre-enrolment information including skills scans and initial diagnostics
- Sign post students for different services should they require further support from external agencies
- Act as wellbeing and Welfare Officer, calling learners throughout the duration of the course to complete satisfaction surveys and check on well-being
- Act as a support officer to students who may be behind progress with their studies and identify and breakdown barriers to learners, preventing withdrawal from course
- Manage and maintain student files, ensuring that all relevant statutory documentation is contained therein and that such files are kept in excellent order to meet the demands of internal and external inspection;
- Keep the students e-portfolio up-to-date at all times in conjunction with the enrolments and finance officers
- Make telephone calls to students and employers to chase up documents and ensure compliance;
- Coordinate webinars meetings where required;
- Create monthly newsletters or bulletins for students to ensure careers knowledge is available
- Answer the phone in a professional and helpful manner. Transfer calls efficiently to the appropriate recipient and take messages as accurately as possible;
- Carry out other appropriate duties, as requested by Managers.

**Salary**: £19,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
