**Working Pattern**: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The Electricity industry is changing, and this change is set to accelerate over the coming years. The SSEN Transmission network is expected to experience huge demand from the increasing levels of renewable energy connecting to the network. On the journey to net zero, this demand will increase markedly over the next decade as the energy system transitions. Innovation will play a significant role in supporting this transition, as we try to fill the gaps in our knowledge by finding new ways to maximise the value of new technologies and industry structures.

The duties and responsibilities of the Innovation Knowledge and Communications Officer are:

- Plan, implement, and deliver regular internal and external communications across multiple media platforms.
- Support the development and growth of our evolving Innovation Culture by devising and delivering a constant communication portfolio.
- Collaborate with colleagues, external stakeholders and third parties to glean accurate data which will be verified, collated and applied in the submission of regulatory reports and license condition requirements throughout the year.
- Develop a sound knowledge of the Innovation portfolio, funding mechanisms, and regulatory reporting, enabling successful, accurate and timely communication.
- Continually seek to improve and enhance our innovation culture at SSEN Transmission.

**What do I need?**

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A good and demonstratable understanding of the Transmission Network, the UK Governments Net Zero Strategy, or a technical discipline which transfers well to the needs of this role.
- You will be self-starting, understanding the importance of planning, timely communications material.
- A naturally inquisitive, resourceful, and ardent approach with an understanding of the importance of delivering the right message at the right time, seeking out opportunities to create meaningful and insightful innovation communications.
- You will skilfully manage the contribution of third-party information in a timely manner to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements. You will have a skillset and a desirable approach to pursue or follow up on requests for information in a fast growing and ambitious organisation.

**About our Business**

SSEN Transmission owns and operates the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, transporting energy from where it is generated to where it is needed, providing a safe and reliable supply of electricity to the communities it serves. Home to some of the UK's greatest resources of renewable energy, SSEN Transmission is playing a critical role in the transition to a low carbon future, developing, building, maintaining and operating a network for net zero.
