To provide systems leadership to ensure that clear, consistent and evidence-based messages on infant feeding, healthy weight, physical activity and healthy nutrition are delivered across multi-agency / organisational boundaries in Tower Hamlets. To work with the School Health and Wellbeing Service and Healthy Lives Team to promote a borough-wide whole school approach which supports healthy eating and physical activity and the maintenance of a healthy weight. (links to key result 3 and 4).

To work with 0-19 services, primary care, and physical activity and healthy eating services, to ensure clear pathways of referral from universal services are in place. (links to key result 6) To use a range of different evidence-based child healthy weight interventions in operation across other boroughs in the UK to support and strengthen existing programmes and innovation to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity in Tower Hamlets. (links to key result 7). To work with the Health Visiting Service and the Community Infant Feeding Coordinator to oversee the delivery of the Baby Friendly Initiative.

(links to key result 8 and 9). To actively participate in the Tower Hamlets Infant Feeding Network and the LBTH Child Healthy Weigh Healthy Services Working Group, providing reports as required. To provide effective line management and support for the Community Child Healthy Weight Advisor (CCHWA) and Community Infant Feeding Coordinator (CIFC). To provide guidance to the CCHWA in the detailed programme of support for staff in the 0-19 Service in relation to children and young people identified as overweight or obese from the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).

To evaluate different models for lifestyle behaviour interventions undertaken as part of the NCMP (links to key results 7) To provide guidance to the CIFC in the implementation of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) within Health Visiting and the Community, including training, clinical audit and other governance programmes in relation to activities. In conjunction with the Clinical Director 0-19 and Public Health Commissioners, develop a strategic work plan with outputs in line with the LBTH Child Healthy Weight Action Plan and key output areas (outlined above), and provide regular reports on the outputs and targets achieved. (links to key result 7) To collate and report progress on performance of infant feeding and healthy weight interventions, these may include: Number of school-based workshops on health and wellbeing for children/parents/carers and number and feedback from those attending Number of training sessions on healthy weight held for front line staff and number of staff from different services attending training Number of healthy lifestyle clinic/drop-in delivered and number of parents/ carers attending Numbers of referral / signposting to partner organisations to support families holistically around health and wellbeing this could include services like Barnados, Parental Engagement Team, CAMSH, Spotlight, Leisure services ect. Number of staff attending breastfeeding and infant feeding training Report setting out proposed annual programme of infant feeding and healthy weight interventions and their evaluation To work in conjunction with the CCHWA to oversee the ongoing implementation of a training programme on healthy weight so that practitioners are confident in their skills and knowledge to be able to discuss these issues with parents and children of different ages.

(links to key result 2) To ensure that appropriate resources are available to families, parents and carers of children and young people on healthy weight, healthy eating and physical exercise and other lifestyle factors. To develop initiatives and messages aimed at empowering families to maintain a healthy lifestyle that are co-produced with parents, children and young people. (links to key results 3 & 4) Through existing networks, keep up to date with availability of local programmes and resources in relation to healthy weight and physical exercise for children and young people and their families. Ensure that services are better connected, well known and well used by those in need.

(links to key result 5) To work in conjunction with the CIFC to provide support to universal 0-5 services, BFI Leads, the Baby Feeding Service and Family Hubs in the promotion of breast feeding and the increased provision of complementary feeding sessions available for all parents who wish to attend. (links to key result 8 & 9) To support provision of consistent and evidence-based information on infant feeding and healthy weight to staff in the voluntary and private sector. This will include influencing staff in early years and community settings (including youth centres) to ensure that affordable food is healthy and physical activity opportunities are maximised (links to key result 9)
