London, United Kingdom Safer London Full time

As an organisation we all work together to make positive, long lasting change for young Londoners, their families, peers and communities.

We take time to understand the contexts where violence and exploitation happen and are committed to embedding contextual safeguarding approaches. We understand that all the children, young people and families that access our services are likely to have experienced trauma and use our understanding of these experiences as the building blocks of support. Our work is shaped by the identities and experiences of those we work alongside.
- In everything we do we:

- prioritise creating safe and trusted relationships
- celebrate and build on strengths
- involve young Londoners in the shaping of our services and provide a platform for their voices to be heard
- innovate, reflect, and commit to learning, we will hold our hands up when we get things wrong.
- recognise we can’t know it all and support other professionals when another trusting relationship already exists.
- What we offer:
Safer London continually reviews its pay and offers a competitive benefits package to all employees, including the following benefits:

- 4-day/32-hour work week from April 1st, 2024, with no impact on pay. This means that you will have a regular day off in the week with no impact on your pay.
- Agile working: flexibility to work in different locations including from home, our office in Southwark and/or community locations (libraries/co-working spaces).
- Flexible Working: our Flexible Working Policy allows requests to work flexibly from the start of your employment.
- New modern offices.
- A contributory Pension Scheme.
- London Living Wage Employer.
- Enhanced family leave.
- Reduced caseloads compared to statutory services.
- Interest-free Season Ticket Loans.
- Cycle to Work Scheme.
- Free access to a confidential 24/7 helpline service with a specialist range of support and information.
- Death in Service Benefit.
- Opportunities to develop and progress your career, including an extensive programme of learning courses.
- Initial Annual Leave allowance of 28 days holiday, rising to 30 days after 3 years and 33 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays and other statutory holidays; part time employees receive a pro-rata entitlement. From April 1st, the annual leave benefit will be pro rata in line with a 32-hour working week.
- Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion:
At Safer London we value diversity and we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture. We know that in order to make London a safer place for the young people that live here, we need a diverse range of perspectives, experience and knowledge.

Our decisions are made by matching the skills and experience of applicants to roles, regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity or reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.

Issues of racial justice are central to the work we do. We are fully committed to anti-racism and actively oppose systemic oppression of any form. We celebrate diversity and challenge inequality. As an organisation, we will proactively become part of the solution, since we are not prepared to sit back, do nothing, and be part of the problem.
