We are looking to appoint a new Attendance Officer to join the Access to Education Team to work with all schools and other staff across the city to improve attendance and ensure all children have a chance to get a good education.

This is a new member of staff to enhance the current team due to the new statutory duties on attendance and the extra support required by LAs.

**About the role**:
They will be offering support and guidance to schools in their work to improve the attendance of all children and also linking with families - particularly around statutory attendance expectations. The role includes the legal work on the issuing of fixed penalty notices for non-attendance and term time absence as well as contributing towards the papers for court where that is appropriate. This will be done as part of a dedicated and focussed team all working together to support our schools and families.

**Additional information**:
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
