This is an exciting time to be joining the global Procurement team, who are about to embark on a major global procurement transformation to become an industry recognised leader in procurement and supply chain.
**Job Requirements**
The Head of Indirect Procurement will be a highly commercial leader who takes stewardship of global indirect procurement. This is a hands-on role with real opportunity to strategically change how indirect spend is managed across the organisation, the role will focus on:
- Part of the global procurement leadership team with accountability for all aspects of indirect procurement
- Developing and delivering a strategic vision for indirect procurement and - c.£80m+ spend base, which is expected to grow in line with the organisation’s overall business strategy
- Developing global, regional, and local procurement strategies across the entire organisation, including all functions and regions, for all indirect sourcing and procurement
- Support the transformation of the global Procurement function to underpin strong Operating Profit growth during a period of rapid scale-up and strengthening risk management and governance in the supplier base
- Be part of a new leadership team, to develop and implement a new structure, processes and systems to support the company's business model, strategies, and financial operating plans
- Develop sourcing and purchasing processes and supporting technology to deliver strong cost base performance across the global enterprise
- Lead Sourcing and procurement activities that are driven with a global perspective to continue to maximise leverage and overall effectiveness of supply at a global, regional and local level
- Establish the indirect category 'Centres of Excellence' to drive best practices locally
- Drive step change across the organisation, and, in partnership with procurement and operational leadership and strategic suppliers, moving the organisation to the next level of indirect procurement.
- Execute value for money decision making through spend leverage, cost benchmarking and through the negotiation of favourable terms and fact-based recommendations
- Ensure and mitigate business risk across the portfolio of indirect category areas
**Typical Accountabilities**
- Develop, implement and manage global, regional and local indirect category strategies which significantly improve the commercial performance of the organisation, embrace innovation and minimise risk
- Drive global adoption to the new procurement operating model, policies and processes
- Has ownership and accountability for the delivery of indirect procurement savings and improvement targets
- Develop and implement rigorous contracts for all critical, strategic and preferred suppliers across all indirect spend areas
- Optimise the indirect supply base at a global, regional and local level ensuring business continuity whilst managing risk
- Support the development and deployment of group standards, tools and working practices to deliver effective procurement and supplier management
- Ensure effective communication of processes and policies to further improve procurement across the organisation
- Support the business to design and implement appropriate supplier management plans and lead reviews for critical/strategic suppliers
- Work closely with post acquisition companies to transition Indirect supply base into the organisation; ensuring that benefits, costs and other synergies are captured
Essential
- Degree educated or equivalent (& proven track record)
- Procurement experience within a multiple Indirect Category Role
- Experience working within a complex private sector multi-national business.
- Result orientated with the ability to present results in a structured and professional manner
- Strong project management skills
- Commercial acumen and ability to influence business leaders. driven and positive attitude
- Strong analytical skills
- Cost reduction experience and evidence
- Team player and influential using robust data to influence business decision making and direction
Desirable
- Specialist sourcing qualification (CIPS)
- Prior experience in multi-commodity Indirect procurement
- Prior procurement transformation experience
- Prior experience of managing business critical suppliers
