Assistant Director, Patient First Improvement

We are pleased to offer this exciting role, which is at the forefront of delivering the Trust’s strategy for continuous improvement and transformation of our corporate and clinical services. You will be leading the Trust-wide Kaizen Office reporting to the Deputy Director of Improvement and Delivery and will work closely with the Director of Improvement and Delivery as well as the Executive and wider leadership team.
We are looking for an experienced and aspirational leader with a proven track record of delivering change in a complex environment. You will have sound communication and relationship management skills and high personal impact and resilience. You will have a well-developed understanding of Patient First and will play a leading role in its evolution and implementation throughout the Trust.
Applicants should have a good working knowledge of continuous improvement methods/ tools such as A3 Thinking, PDSA, DMAIC and experience of implementing organisation wide programmes. We are looking for an individual with a passion for supporting frontline staff to make daily continuous improvement and building a lasting culture of improvement across the organisation.
On behalf of the Director of Improvement and Delivery, lead the delivery of the Patient First Improvement Programme (PFIP), including the operational management of the Kaizen Office. Have direct responsibility for the development and delivery of three of the Programme’s pillars: Strategy Development, Capability and the Kaizen Office and ensure these are coordinated with the rest of the PFIP. Be an integral part of the delivery of Strategy deployment at all levels of the organisation. Responsible for the cascade of continuous improvement leader behaviours through direct coaching and support at all levels of the organisation. As part of the Trust’s leadership team, foster excellent working relationships across clinical, operational and corporate teams and, through your own gemba plan, demonstrate connection with and support to frontline staff.
