Asian Network News reflects the lives and ambitions of young British Asians on air and online. It puts those audiences at the heart of all its commissioning. Bulletins, programmes and digital content are aimed at 18-34 year olds from Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan heritage. **Main Responsibilities**:

- The role will include working towards the three-hour Drive programme and helping our daily output team.
- The focus of the role will be working on ideas, stories and content that are relevant and engaging to our audience. This includes producing content under pressure and in a creative way.
- Showing the ability to source a range of stories that connect with our audience and engage new ones is key.
- To produce engaging packages through a range of production skills.
- Undertake a range of programme or newsroom administration, including logging music, output trails, prepare programme scripts and running orders.
- Conduct straightforward recorded interviews and coordinate studio guests.
- You need to be well organised, be able to listen and follow instructions and respond effectively, be full of initiative and ideas and have a flair for audio content. Our tone is vibrant and distinct.
- It’s an ideas-driven team and you’ll be expected to come up with relevant stories and original treatments.
- Experience of radio journalism and an understanding of what works for digital audiences.
- Strong understanding of our target audience - British Asian communities, music and culture.
- Be able to find original, untold stories that will engage our listeners and then present them in our daily editorial meeting.
- A strong news sense are important.
- Motivation to work on their own and to be an ambitious team player.
