Our Sibling Support service provides dedicated support and therapeutic interventions to siblings who may be bereaved, and those who have a sibling with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.

The service allow’ s siblings to access specialist support, share experiences, gain information and have the opportunity to speak to others who understand their situation and the problems they face.

Rainbows have an exciting opportunity for a Sibling Support Specialist to join the team, working with siblings to assess their individual needs and identify, plan and deliver suitable interventions.

The role is home based with regular travel across the East Midlands in order to meet the needs of our families. Occasional weekend and evening work is required.

**Responsibility of the role include**:

- Work with family members to increase the understanding of the needs of siblings.
- To support siblings to enable the facilitation of other groups, for example the bereaved family days and groups.
- To identify and implement creative ways to communicate with the sibling groups.
- To ensure that children, young people, and their parents are empowered through information and understanding of their rights and options to access services required.
- To ensure that the sibling’s individual needs are met, including the cultural, and spiritual aspects.
