**Senior NPD Researcher | Preston | Full Time | £35,000-£45,000 per annum**

Jonesco is a leading manufacturer of moulded plastic products, operating in three markets: commercial vehicle, fire protection and environmental protection. Jonesco is a market leader in several European countries as well as shipping to over 60 other countriesworldwide.

Based in Preston, Lancashire, the Jonesco group has a turnover of around £22m and employs around 175 employees, operating from a 4-acre manufacturing site and a 3.7-acre distribution site nearby. The subsidiary company, Jonesco Sarl based in Lille, distributesthroughout France and the EU.

You will play a central role in the planning and delivery of research to develop Jonesco’s position in our various markets and development activities. you are a creative problem solver who is curious about people, can naturally balance the user, business,and technical needs, and adapt your approach to a range of research challenges.

The role will suit a researcher who is comfortable dealing with a range of stakeholders to translate business challenges into clear research plans and actionable insights that enable Jonesco to make smarter design, commercial and strategic decisions.

**Are you the right person for us?**

**Essential**
- Full UK driving licence
- Good knowledge and understanding of a range of market and design research methodologies
- Confident in the handling and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
- Strong communicator, with the ability to present meaningful insights and plans in a concise manner
- A strong focus on quality work, and an ability to manage multiple projects
- Technically competent
- Enthusiasm and initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
- Practical, hands-on approach, and an interest in how things work with the confidence to constructively challenge when they could be improved
- Skilled in manipulating and visualising data in Excel
- English language

**Desirable**
- Command of additional European languages an advantage
- Experience in the design, coordination and undertaking of research projects in a B2B environment, involving diverse stakeholder groups, or hard-to-reach participants.
- Demand forecasting and market modelling.

**What will your role look like?**
- Determining the most appropriate data collection methods and designing studies that deliver on project and company objectives
- Planning, coordination, and delivery of research initiatives to feed into product, technical, and market focused projects
- Carrying out extensive primary and secondary research to build better understanding of our competitors, markets, and offerings
- The effective development of new products and gaining competitive advantage includes both market and technological aspects
- Discovering and combining findings from internal sales and customer information, user, and market research to identify and evaluate new product opportunities
- Defining new product specifications and ensuring a focus on user and business needs is maintained throughout the product development process
- Carry out business analysis to inform teams on product performance and trends, identifying potential areas of opportunity
- Communicating market and product-level insights to support strategic decision-making across design, sales, and marketing activities
- Actively develop forecasts and targets for new products
- Play a central role in the continual development of research practice within the company and expansion of our research processes, tools, and strategies
- Have the confidence to establish and drive your own projects, identify avenues for new research, engage with diverse stakeholder groups, and deliver fresh thinking
- Maintain a strong awareness of competitor activities and trends in our core and adjacent markets, with the ability to evaluate potential opportunities and threats
