This year our journey continues and in a big way - in February 2023 Fern Trading announced the consolidation of **Cuckoo, Giganet, Jurassic Fibre, Swish Fibre**, and **AllPoints** Fibre into a single Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) operating entity to accelerate full-fibre delivery in the UK. The unification of these businesses will enable us to combine resources, knowledge and expertise to hasten and grow full fibre network access across the UK.

Now, by combining our regional operations, we are building a national ISP alongside a national wholesale network that can serve millions and achieve our new joint mission to be the UK’s most recommended way to connect.

**More about this role**:
The Commercial Planning & Forecasting Lead will help shape Cuckoo’s success going forward. This individual will be future minded and will enjoy wrestling with the opportunities & challenges of a scale-up with major growth ambitions. We’re looking for someone who is highly quantitative and adept at turning diffuse data sources into robust and informative business cases or projections. This role will be commercially focussed and is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of strategy formation for an exciting new disruptor within the Telco space.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Leading the commercial volume & value forecasting for Cuckoo (both for annual budget and longer-term strategic planning: working together with marketing, sales and commercial finance functions to create a live planning model.
- Keep your hand on the pulse through maintenance of the commercial assumptions log, tracking progress against growth goals & identifying opportunities to course-correct or optimize performance.
- Tracking and managing Cuckoo’s progress against major KPIs: ARPU, CAC, and base volume, and collaborate with the rest of the commercial team on optimization strategies.
- Driving post-implementation evaluation of campaigns & commercial initiatives and recycle learnings for use in future insights.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop product pricing strategies that are competitive and aligned with market dynamics.
- Leading the planning and execution of annual & medium-term growth planning process as key intermediary between Sales & Marketing, partner Finance in creation of budgets/forecasts.
- Analysing sales data and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of commercial initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Keeping in the know when it comes to industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes that may impact commercial operations.
- Managing relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholders to support commercial objectives.
- Mentoring and coaching the wider business’ literacy in forecasting & business planning.
- Experience in demand planning, commercial management, financial forecasting, or business analysis, preferably in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Brilliant attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical modelling, quantitative analysis, highly familiar with building forecasts and creation of business models
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
- A track record of driving process improvements, implementing best practices, and delivering measurable results.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships across marketing, sales, finance and our network partners (All Points Fibre Network) Knowledge of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic factors influencing demand and financial performance.

**It would be great if you also have**:

- An understanding of the UK Telco market and network provider infrastructure
- Previous experience working within a fast-paced start-up/scale up environment.
