Rail Operator

Overview:
GB Railfreight are currently looking to bolster our talent pool for Rail Operator positions based at Eastleigh. Working a shift based roster on a nominal 38 hours per week, a Rail Operator will receive a basic salary of £38,263 per annum when fully qualfied, plus staff benefits. We are looking for a safety focused and dynamic individual to join our team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers.

Whilst undertaking training the salary will be £22,678 per annum.

**Responsibilities**:
Qualifications:

- Previous operational/Ground staff/shunting experience within the Freight industry would be desirable.
- Experience in a safety critical role would be desirable.
- Experience gained in a Customer facing environment would be advantageous.
- Able to multi-task and make quick decisions for short notice changes to train plans.
- Ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
- Excellent and clear communication skills to relay important safety messages to your colleagues.
- Safety conscious and ability to remain calm in an event of an emergency situation.
- You must live within a 60 minute commuting distance from the depot.

A clean full (manual) UK driving licence is essential.
