**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Greet and welcome visitors to the Trust HQ reception at the Littlemore Mental Health Centre site, advise and/or direct visitors to the appropriate person / department, and ensure that the reception area is presentable, safe and accessible at all times during reception open hours.
- Receive calls to the Trust in a courteous and helpful manner. The postholder will be required to have excellent communication skills, be calm and reassuring as callers may sometimes be in a distressed state. This role demands strong interpersonal skills coupled with compassionate assertiveness.
- Operate the Trust HQ’s switchboard, answering incoming calls and transferring callers appropriately using tools provided. The post holder will be required to be well spoken with a good telephone manner including a clear voice.
- Undertake training in new skills required for effective operation of the Trust HQ reception and to maintain those skills in line with supervision and appraisal.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous NHS experience (desirable)
- NHS System Knowledge
- Good interpersonal skills and telephone manner
- Proven experience of working in a Receptionist, 'front of house' and/or office environment
- Good IT skills including use of Microsoft packages.
- Ability to support the public in a polite and professional manner
- This role may require you to show evidence of education at Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience._
