**Line Manager - **Lead Practice Nurse

**Hours per week - **minimum of 35.5 (exact days/hours will be discussed)

**Salary - **starting at£11.50 per hour, increasing with training completed.

**Job Summary - **you will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, and health promotion whilst also supporting the nursing team with administrative support.

You will operate under the supervision of the Lead Nurse and other appropriately qualified clinicians.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
- Supporting with QOF reviews
- Supporting with clinical audits
- Arranging appointments and follow up appointments of patients
- Provide administrative support to the Nursing Team
- Coil and implant recalls
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
- Supporting Infection Control Lead
- Supporting with Health and Safety, i.e. Risk assessments
- When trained, carry out baseline observations such as, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately
- When trained, undertake venepuncture, administer flu vaccinations, ECGs, health checks, basic wound care and ear irrigation
- Ensure fridges are cleaned and checked routinely in accordance with protocols
- Take and record daily maximum and minimum fridge readings and report any out of range figures
- Order immunisations and rotate stock
- Order and maintain stock levels of consumables and equipment as required
- Act as a chaperone as required
- Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
- Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
- Support the practice nurse in delivering health promotion programmes

**Personal Specification**:

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Willing to undertake a Care Certificate and other training courses as directed
- Experience of working in a primary care environment/Healthcare setting
- Experience of working with the general public
- Ability to work with own scope of practice and understanding when to seek support
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong IT skills (office and outlook)
- Effective time management (planning and organising)
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal skills
- Flexible, cooperative and motivated
- Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required
- High levels of integrity and loyalty
- Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations
- Ability to work under pressure / in stressful situations
