Wrap-around Care Play Worker

Play and Learn Scheme (PALS) is the north-west’s fastest growing provider of wrap-around care to primary school-aged children. We pride ourselves on creating safe, fun, engaging and flexible environments to look after the needs of each individual child, parents and schools.

Due to new venues, we’re seeking play workers to help deliver high quality play care within our new club in Accrington.

**Reporting to**: Club Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
- Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents or carers.
- Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
- Administering first aid when necessary.
- Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
- Helping with club administration, where necessary.
- Encouraging parental involvement in the club.
- Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, and schools.
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
- Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
- Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.

**Working Pattern**:Part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

**Key Skills/Qualifications**:

- A current childcare qualification (or working towards)
- Experience of working with 4 to 11 year old children
- Experience of working within a play-based setting
- Experience of administration
- Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
- Appropriate child protection training
- Current Pediatric First Aid Certificate
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate

**Package**:

- £10.50- £12.00 per hour, depending on experience
- As well as a great financial package, we can also offer free access to any of our local provisions, including wrap-around childcare, before and after school clubs and holiday clubs.
