An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 4 Physiotherapy assistant (0.8 WTE) to join the Adult Cystic Fibrosis team at The Wolfson CF Centre, City Campus of Nottingham University Hospitals Trust. The role will involve devising and providing exercise programmes for patients with Cystic Fibrosis and other chronic respiratory diseases in a variety of settings including inpatients/outpatients/community and virtual work.

A valid driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will work alongside the physiotherapists and fellow band 3 physiotherapy assistant who work within our Cystic Fibrosis unit.

They will be involved in assessing exercise tolerance, devising and carrying out exercise programmes for patients across the following settings: inpatient/outpatient/community/virtual.

Within the inpatient setting they will be involved in providing acute rehabilitation, assessing for walking aids and assessing for discharge.

They will be responsible for their own caseload and diary management working both individually and alongside other members of the therapy and multidisciplinary team. They will need to be able to work independently and proactively with support from the therapy team.

They will be expected to supervise and support the band 3 physiotherapy assistant. They will participate in our in-service training programme.

As well as clinical work, they will be expected to assist with administrative duties required for ensuring the smooth running of the CF unit. Duties include, but are not limited to: stocktaking, equipment ordering, printing and photocopying.

Permanent 30 hours Band 4 post

Must be available to work Friday; ideal hour hours will be Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 - 16:30

Training and qualifications

Essential criteria
- GCSE (A-C) English/Maths or equivalent
- NVQ/QCF level 3 in healthcare or equivalent relevant qualification

Experience

- Significant experience of working as a therapy support worker (band 3)
- Understands the concepts of rehabilitation
- Able to deal with pressurised/unexpected situations
- Has experience of working in a relevant health, care or exercise setting
