Job description

This is exciting role within the newly formed Leisure Service within Stroud District Council. The Leisure Service has been formed with an initial scope of bringing Stratford Park Leisure Centre back in house and then longer term managing the entire leisure estate including The Pulse in Dursley. This role will be at the core of the service providing financial reporting and business intelligence allowing for informed commercial decisions and the accurate administration if all financial matters.

In this role you will work with internal colleagues, our communities, leisure staff and key partners to support the delivery of the Leisure Service vision, service and council plan.

You will play a significant role in the successful financial management of the entire service and provide focus on service improvement through financial sustainability.

**About you**:
You’ll have experience of working in an environment that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills and will be passionate and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service whilst working under pressure. You’ll have a sound knowledge and experience of:

- Working within strict public sector financial regulations
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders
- Multi £m budget preparation and monitoring
- Preparation of financial reports summarising and estimating the service’s financial position such as income statements, balance sheets, analysis of future income profiles & dashboard reports.
- Extracting complex data from multiple sources.
- Using own initiative to solve problems
