Chief Digital Information Officer

This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity working for Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust, where you will provide leadership to the Information Management, Systems & Technology Team (IMST) and Business & Performance team. You will work across the Trust developing strategy and implementing change for digital systems and our integrated performance and quality framework to support great services and care.
We have started some wide-ranging transformation programmes including the implementation of a new patient record system (Rio), a complete refresh of our network infrastructure and we recently completed the implementation of our new data centre. Other projects that are starting include moving on-premises Microsoft Services to MS 365 and expansion of our data warehouse to support Rio.

- Be accountable for strategic and operational management for information and information technology in Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS FT.
- Consult stakeholders across the organisation to identify business and clinical technology needs and to optimise the use of information and technology.
- Lead the development and implementation of policy and the Trust Digital Strategy, ensuring the Trust is developing systems and solutions to achieve compliance with all Department of Health and Social Care requirements.
- Represent the Trust across the Accountable Care Partnership (ACP) and South Yorkshire Integrated Care System (ICS) in support of their strategies and plans
- Be accountable for key developments and innovations which improve the care and experience of our service users through the introduction of new technologies and the introduction of our new Electronic Patient Record System (Rio).
- Be responsible for compiling business plans to deliver the strategy ensuring implementation, performance targets and strategic objectives are met. This role will substantially contribute to corporate policies and strategy.
- Lead a culture in line with trust values and have overall responsibility for the management, training and development of Information Management & Technology (IMST) staff.

1. To act as the lead for Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS FT (SHSC) in the development of a comprehensive and systematic, internal, SHSCT-wide Digital Framework. To produce and present regular reports to both the SHSC Board of Directors and Executive management teams, covering all aspects of IT and areas of significant risk including those areas within the SHSC’s Corporate Plan and indicators used to determine the CQC standards for improving health.
2. Provide leadership and be accountable to the Digital Strategy Board for the Digital Transformation Agenda.
3. Directing and line managing the Directorate to ensure that appropriate advice, technology, support & information is available to all areas of the Trust’s work. In particular, the requirements of commissioners and partners of SHSC.
4. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience of IT systems in order to manage the IMST development programme and oversee the maintenance, business continuity and resilience of business and patient care critical systems. Overall responsibility for all Trust IT systems and their interoperability.
5. To develop “real time” IT reporting solutions that allow the organisation to effectively manage its services, contracts, team & patient governance. Research the technology marketplace to provide the best solutions to improve efficiency and deliver clinical benefits.
6. To be accountable for improving data quality across the Trust, supporting and guiding the trusts implementation of a Performance Framework work with the Assistant Deputy Director (Information and Architecture) and Head of Performance to improve data quality. For example, improving the systems of activity reporting within the clinical services directly managed by the Trust.
