Portsmouth, United Kingdom Fusion Fostering Full time

**Homebased - with regular travel to Foster Carers in Portsmouth and Hampshire.**

**CONTRACT TYPE: Sessional**

At Fusion Fostering Limited, our focus is to achieve positive experiences for the children and young people looked after by our dedicated foster carers.

We have built strong relationships with Local Authorities across the UK to provide a range of exceptional children’s services delivered by a team of motivated, highly competent practitioners.

We consistently drive positive outcomes for young people and this child-focussed approach, combined with our commitment to continuous learning and improvement, has contributed to our reputation for service excellence, and recent growth of the organisation.

We are currently seeking a sessional Support Worker to join our friendly, supportive team.

The key responsibility of the role is to work with our Supervising Social Workers and to provide support to our valued foster carers (and importantly, our children and young people in foster care).

You will have some previous direct experience in working with children, young people and their families in childcare, social work, social care, counselling, youth work or education settings.

You will need to be able to demonstrate good organisational skills to arrange regular events such as foster carer support groups, participation events for children, social events etc.

As we are regulated by Ofsted, accurate record keeping is an essential part of the post. Your administration skills should be strong; and your attention to detail very high.

Depending on the need of our carers, there may be occasional evening and weekend work required, sometimes at short notice, therefore you will need to be suited to flexible working. The role will involve approximately 25 hours of work each month.

You will need to have your own transport and current driving licence. All expenses are reimbursed including business miles at 0.45p per mile (HMRC guidelines).

Training will be given, and you will have supervision meeting from an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker on a monthly basis to aid your development.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, we expect all workers and employees to share this commitment.

We encourage a diverse workforce which reflects the communities we serve. To achieve this, we aim to respect personal differences and promote fairness and dignity for all. We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer.

If you are interested in taking on a new challenge and have the skills to strengthen our team further, then we would love to hear from you
