**Position Overview**: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Inventory Controller to join our team. The Inventory Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of our Stores Department, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and ensuring prompt and accurate flow of materials to Production in a safe and efficient manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Inventory Management**: Maintain accurate inventory records of electrical switchgear components and materials, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular stock checks, and managing stock rotation to minimize waste and obsolescence.

2. **Receipt and Dispatch**: Coordinate the receipt and dispatch of incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying quantities and quality of goods received, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery to production lines and customers.

3. **Kitting for Production**: Managing all aspects of suppling parts to Production including reporting shortages, stock out issues and identifying root cause.

4. **Storage and Organization**: Implement efficient storage and organization systems for electrical switchgear components and materials, ensuring optimal use of space and easy accessibility for retrieval.

5. **Health and Safety Compliance**: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices within the stores department, including maintaining a clean and safe working environment, conducting regular safety inspections, and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

6. **Supplier Management**: Liaise with our Procurement department to resolve any issues related to deliveries, quality, or discrepancies, and establish effective communication channels to facilitate the smooth flow of materials.

7. **Continuous Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the stores department, implementing initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in stores or a related field, preferably within the electrical industry.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay: From £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
