Head of Finance

Part-Time Head of Finance - 3 days / 22.5 hours per week

£50,000-60,000 FTE (£30-36k pro rata)

Hewett Recruitment require a Head of Finance to join our organisation to add value to business decision making, by partnering closely with the company directors and senior stakeholders. Taking ownership of all elements of day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on modernising and automating the finance function.

Head of Finance Responsibilities:

- Leading and developing the finance team including the Payroll Manager, Credit Controller, and Finance Administrator
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Work with Directors on key variance analysis of actual vs budget performance
- Monitoring & updating cash flow forecasting
- Regular review of overheads and monitoring of spend to budget and forecast
- Bringing our 3-year plan to life with real-time financial modelling and forecasting
- Providing financial analysis and insight to support business decision making
- Ensuring ongoing improvements to compliance and financial controls
- Carry out & review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and statutory accounts
- Take a continuous improvement approach to systems and processes
- Support the wider team with ad hoc queries from Consultants, Customers etc.
- Become the "SAGE 50 Champion" - assisting staff in developing and troubleshooting issues
- Review & authorisation of supplier payments and purchase ledger

The successful person will be a forward-thinking ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified accountant with a proven track record of working in an SME environment in a similar role. Someone with an inquisitive mind who enjoys partnering with non-finance stakeholders. This role would normally be based at our offices in Kidderminster although there is the option to work from home for some of the time.
