Supporting the deputy director of quality and patient safety focusing on developing a learning culture and tools for assurance, supporting the delivery of the new patient safety incident investigation framework, the potholder will be an integrate member of the quality and patient safety leadership team.

The Head of Patient Safety Improvement and Learning will work as part of the Trust’s Quality and Patient Safety Team.
- Building a learning culture through the development of information-sharing tools
- Supporting patient safety oversight and assurance through the ongoing improvement of committee paper, ensuring data is translated into narrative intelligence.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Quality and Patient Safety, and working with your fellow team manager, you will play a key role in building a culture which promotes and supports safety for our patients, staff and visitors and which ensures we are providing high quality, safe care for patients by embracing improvement through learning at organisational level.

The Head of Patient Safety Improvement and Learning will support the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework leading to measurable cultural change in patient safety. The successful applicant will promote the principles of a just culture across the organisation, emphasising the values of improvement not blame, to foster a fair, open, learning culture for all

The postholder will also support the establishment of meaningful patient involvement in the Trust’s implementation of the PSIRF and lead on the Trust’s transition to the new Patient Safety Incident Management System ‘Learn from Patient Safety Events’.
