The Parent Carers Support Service aims improve the wellbeing of Carers of all ages who look after a child or young person under the age of 18 with a disability in Dumfries & Galloway, enabling them to maintain their caring role, where appropriate, and supporting them to achieve a life of their own alongside providing care.

**We are looking for a part time Family Wellbeing Worker for 12 hours per week on a Fixed Term Contract until March 31st 2025.**

As a Family Wellbeing Worker, you would establish and maintain collaborative working relationships between the service and other professionals from education, health, social work and third sector organisations, to improve referral, assessment and support processes for carers. Development and implementation innovative and creative approaches to identify, engage and support carers experiencing a range of challenges in their role. You will need to assess the needs of unpaid carers within families and co-produce outcomes-based support plans that prioritise identified needs, taking into consideration a range of practical and emotional supports to minimise the negative impact of caring responsibilities on achieving positive wellbeing.

You will have the virtual carers centre and online tools to deliver support using mobile phones, tablets and laptops. A range of tools to consult with carers and ensure their views actively shape service delivery, locally and beyond. You will be required to record data to enable monitoring, evaluation and reporting that supports the effective measurement of success and contributes to the development planning of the service.

**AREA OF WORK**

Workers will have responsibilities within a specific geographic area but will be required to work across Dumfries & Galloway in support of service delivery and may be based in different venues depending on service requirements. We are currently looking for cover for the Dumfries side of the region, so the East of D&G but the role can be carried out from home and you can create your own rota. For example, you could be in one town on a Tuesday every two weeks and every other week be in two villages, once a month in another etc.
