**OVERALL SUMMARY**

Join Close Brothers Finance Team where you will be responsible for the delivery of financial control surrounding cash payments and receipts made by the business as part of its daily trading activities. Reconciliations are carried out between the company bank accounts, client systems and transactions that are posted and processed by other teams.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**_ Cashbooks and Reconciliations_**
- Daily Cashbooks:_
- Cashbooks split between payments, receipts and trust accounts by currency. Primary currencies are GBP, EUR and USD. Key tasks include:

- Download the required reports from the online banks accounts each morning
- Populate Excel cashbook templates with the relevant data, or review robotic outputs of cashbook data
- Review manual spreadsheet entry or robotic output to ensure cash has been assigned to the correct general ledger accounts
- Use controls to ensure bank entries match those on the operating system
- Upload journals into SAP
- Reconciliation control accounts:_
- Process of reviewing journals posted to SAP and ensuring that the general ledger values are correct with any variances identified and investigated within SLA. This would include timely communication with different areas of the business to gain understanding behind the transaction and to discuss a resolution.

**_ Funding and Currency Sales_**
- Daily Funding and Bank File Downloads_
- Downloading bank files and setting up payments to move funds between Close Brothers accounts. Completing lunchtime review of available funds in Close Brothers accounts and arranging for funds to be sent to and from the Treasury Department as required.
- Daily manual sweeps_
- Reviewing trust account balances and creating sweeps from these to the main Close Invoice account daily.
- Treasury Funding_
- Calculating the funds required in each bank account to cover daily outgoing payments and arranging for funds to be sent to and from the Treasury Department as required.
- Currency Sales_
- Liaising with Client Managers and the Treasury Department to process currency sales daily in accordance with client requirements.

**WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF HAVE/ARE**:

- 3 A-Levels or equivalent
- Strong numeracy skills
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- The ability to work to deadlines and cope with varying workloads particularly at month end
- Able to work on own initiative or with others on tasks with minimum supervision
- The ability to learn new technical tasks, using a combination of existing process documents and creating own notes for guidance

**IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE**:

- Part-qualified or studying towards qualification from AAT, CIMA, ACCA or another recognised accounting qualification
- SAP experience
- Analytical experience
- Cashbook experience
