**Key Purpose**

Responsible for the monitoring and accountability of achievement, retention, attendance and student satisfaction at the College

To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults for whom you have responsibility for, or come into contact with.

To continually improve and provide an outstanding learning experience for students with positive destinations and planned next steps.

To line manage the Pastoral and Learner Services Team and carry out appraisals and managerial duties to support staff development

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Constantly strive to improve the student’s experience at Salford College of Further
**A **Education, with a view to further extending their opportunities and progression

(including to) University/ Higher Apprenticeships

Line managing the progress team; setting key goals, coaching, reviewing
**B ** performance, managing absence and recruitment.

To participate in appraisals and to undertake staff development activities as
**C ** appropriate.

**D **Lead team meetings of your team in a context of continuous improvement.

**E **Taking responsibility for the quality assurance of all of the tutorial provision.

Establish and maintain trust with curriculum teams and work efficiently with your
**F ** line manager.

**G **Plan, organise and evaluate work carried out by staff who you line manage.

**H **Manage your programme resources effectively and efficiently, including budgets

**I **Support the development of enrichment activities with the Enrichment Officer.

Plan and co-ordinate programme enrolment and induction (including transition
**J ** and diagnostic assessment).

Co-ordinate student progress monitoring and review the support and
**K ** communication with parents.

Monitor and review attendance of students and groups. Meeting targets set for
**L ** student achievement and retention by use of robust systems

Other such relevant and appropriate duties as the Head of College may from time
**N ** to time require.

Variations to the job description may be required from time to time and when this arises there will be a discussion with the post holder.
