Due to team reconfiguration an exciting opportunity has arisen within the IRT teams in Lichfield and Tamworth for 3 Band 4 Care Act Assessors. These are permanent positions and are an ideal opportunity for someone at the beginning of their social care career who wants to experience a wide range of opportunities in adult social services. You will be fully supported to develop your skills and experience. The successful applicant will be working alongside social workers, social care assessors and senior Care Act Assessors.

The IRT takes initial community social care referrals and is part of a busy community assessment and review team. The role is fast paced and involves working closely with service-users, carers, partner agencies and other professionals providing assessment of need, signposting, information, care planning and reviewing in line with The Care Act (2014) and Mental Capacity Act (2005).

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is an award winning organisation with over 9000 employees. We are one of the largest integrated Health and Social Care providers, covering services across North & South Staffordshire, Shropshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Isle of Wight and Essex.

We are embedding values based and inclusive recruitment practices to ensure that all applicants, from any backgrounds, have an equal chance of success in achieving a role with us.

A good knowledge of the services available to support and promote independence in the community is a benefit but not essential as an induction and full training will be provided. The Trust is committed to professional development and will provide opportunity for training and routes for career progression.

The successful applicants will need to travel across Staffordshire and when required out of county. You will require a clean driving licence and a vehicle for business use.

Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA)

On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. The relevant SWLA ‘stage’ (i.e. stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration. The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.
