**PURPOSE**:We have an opening for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team. The role will be to support the AP Supervisor & other members of the team in the day-to-day functions within the Finance Department ensuring adequate control in accounting systems and procedures of A&K.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Overview of the Purchase Ledger inbox process, including appropriate allocation of tasks to the wider AP team, and KPI reporting
- Dealing with more complex supplier queries (internal & external)
- Process Direct Debits and match to invoices
- Ownership of VAT reclaim process on GBP Proforma Invoices
- Assist with company credit card expense approvals (direct costs)
- Processing of direct cost invoices. This involves checking invoices to the travel booking system, posting them to our accounting system, and authorising for payment.
- Checking & approving journals relating to overhead and staff expense accounts
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Overview of the invoice export into accounts ledger process
- Assisting with verified bank details & payment runs
- Ensuring that appropriate accounting processes, systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
- Provide cover for the Accounts Receivable team (annual leave / illness, etc)
- Supporting the AP Supervisor, Management Accountant, and Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks
**ABOUT YOU**:
- Previous experience with MS Outlook and Excel (necessary)
- Knowledge of “Task Manager” function (desirable)
- Intermediate excel skills (desirable)
- Able to work on own initiative
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Adaptable to a changing environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A team player, able to support others in the team when required and take ownership of own role
