About the PSR

This is where the PSR plays an important role - we are the economic regulator of, and competition authority for, those systems. We protect people and businesses and promote competition and innovation in these systems and the markets that they support.- The PSR is an independent economic regulator led by Managing Director, Chris Hemsley. We are directly accountable to Parliament and funded by the payments industry. We work closely with other regulators involved in this sector, notably the Financial Conduct Authority, the Bank of England and the Competition and Markets Authority. Operationally we are an independent subsidiary of the Financial Conduct Authority._

- Purpose of the role:

- Every well-run organisation needs a team of operational experts behind it. This role is an integral part of the operations team here at the PSR and sits within the People and Operations division. The operations team helps to ensure the smooth running of the PSR by supporting the operational services which enable the PSR to be effective.
- We help to ensure efficient use our financial resources and value for money through our budgeting and procurement processes. The team act as the contact point for consumers, stakeholders and the payments industry when dealing with queries and complaints. We have responsibility for managing the annual report and accounts cycle, protecting the PSR’s information, as well as ensuring the PSR could continue in the event of a crisis. We also support PSR colleagues by managing operational services received from the FCA (our parent company) including technology, and our accommodation and facilities.
- This associate role has a broad operations focus so you’ll get a great breadth of experience. The role has primary responsibility for our correspondence with external stakeholders; meaning you’ll get to work with people across the whole of the PSR. In addition, you’ll get involved with a number of other operational areas such as finance, procurement and business continuity. The role involves frequent stakeholder management and engagement with PSR and FCA staff.

- Manage the PSR’s ‘Contact Us’ external correspondence mailbox and the responses-
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with FCA service providers.-
