**Location**
The role will be based in one of Forestry Commission’s offices across England with regular contact or travel to Bristol. There will be flexibility for some optional blended working. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

The nature of the role requires a willingness to travel regularly/occasionally throughout England with short stays away from home as required.
**Job description**:
Additionally the Forestry England estate is dual certified under FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) for timber production and the role will assist the lead planning manager in ensuring organisational compliance with the UK Woodland Assurance standard (UKWAS), the standard for verifying sustainable woodland management in the UK.
**Key Roles**
**Maintenance of current suite of Guidance documents**
Ensure that current guidance and supporting documents are reviewed as appropriate and according to agreed schedules by the relevant authors. To ensure we can demonstrate compliance, the post holder will maintain a log of changes, will be responsible for updating the relevant intranet pages and archiving any previous document versions. Removing guidance as it becomes obsolete, ensuring any live guidance is not contradictory and is aligned with national policy and practice.
**Lead/coordinate revision and production of Guidance**
**Disseminate the guidance**
**Auditing against guidance and standards**
Assist with both internal and external auditing against UK Woodland Assurance Standard to maintain the Forest Stewardship council (FSC) and Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) dual certification.
**Person specification**:
**Essential**
Experience in producing policy and guidance documentation
Experience in managing multiple project streams together, running to varied timescale and priorities.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills and conversant with remote working technology such as Microsoft Teams
Full UK Driving licence
**Desirable**
Experience and qualification in either ISO9001 or ISO14001 BSA internal audit or a willingness to undertake training.
A good understanding of forestry and land management and knowledge of Forest certification against the UK Woodland Assurance Standard.
