We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Risk Consultant working in our Advice and Guidance Risk and Governance Team.

**The role**

The Advice and Guidance Risk and Governance Team sits within the Pensions and Savings Value Centre which supports the Group in providing innovative products and services to customers. And it is growing. The vision is to help more customers and their families to make the most of their money now and for their future.

The Advice and Guidance business provides access to information, investments and services to help customers make informed financial decisions meaning they can save more ‘to and through’ retirement.

This is where you come in. Advice and Guidance are seeking a risk consultant to join the team that plays an active part in the business to help the effective management of risk, so delivery of good customer outcomes continue.

With your risk management knowledge, you will work collaboratively with the business managers to support them in embedding successful risk management practices. This could be through ensuring actions and decisions are fully considered and well documented or confirming the appropriate governance arrangements to follow. You will be on hand to answer queries and raise concerns which help prevent small issues growing into larger concerns that could slow us down.

Building relationships is key, you will be able to information efficiently and effectively, which will allow you to provide holistic risk insight within the risk reporting that enables the business to focus on what it does best - supporting our customers.

There may be times where you use this information to challenge risk and control activities and provide training and support to promote consistent understanding of risk management. But this will be comfortable for you through the credibility you will gain with your knowledge of specific regulations, legislation, governance and compliance requirements that impact us as a business.

**What are we looking for?**
- Previous experience in a risk management position or developing g a track record in risk management experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of the markets, competitors, products, services
- Excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and organised ability to work to tight time scales, prioritising where needed to meet objectives.
- Strong relationship management skills to build partnerships both within advice and guidance and in other business areas
