**JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS ASSISTANT**
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To assist in the operation, control, monitoring and maintenance of process plant and utility systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operate process equipment and utility systems in accordance with operating procedures to maximize production.
- Carry out watch keeping duties to ensure integrity and stability of operation is maintained.
- Adjusting key parameters in order to maximize production.
- Starting up, running and shutting down the plant as and when required.
- Ensuring that maintenance work is carried out with minimum disruption to productivity.
- Carry out first line maintenance activities on the process plant and utility systems.
- Report any defects or anomalies in a timely manner.
- Respond to process trips and unplanned equipment stoppages in a timely manner.
- Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities to improve process reliability Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in PFM competence scheme including any multi skilled role in accordance with the relevant competence framework.
- Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success.
- Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimize interpersonal conflict.
- Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels.
**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:
- Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to IOGP Life Saving Rules.
- Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with HS&E policy, procedures and Safety Management System and any statutory requirements or obligations.
- Comply with all relevant PFM HS&E policies and procedures where appropriate.
- Actively participate and support all PFM Health, Safety & Environmental plans, initiatives and improvements
- Carry out all activities in accordance with ISSOW including the following:
- Comprehensive and detailed Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks
- Stop and re-asses any job where change is identified.
- Report all accidents and incidents.
- Carry out Emergency Response duties in accordance with requirements.
- Recognized Apprenticeship is advantage.
- Level 3 VQ - Processing Operations - Hydrocarbons or working towards
- Level 3 VQ - Maintaining Plant & Systems or working towards
- Control of Work competence
