Our new Unit4 ERP financial system is shared between North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council. This recent implementation gives rise to further developments and improvements in support of the two council’s priorities and values.- The systems team’s main objectives are to maintain an efficiently operating system whilst finding creative and innovative solutions to suggested developments and enhancements.- About the Roles- These roles will be employed by North Lincolnshire Council but will also provide services to North East Lincolnshire Council as part of a Service Level Agreement. The Specialist posts will work for the Finance Systems Manager and will be supported by a Systems Practitioner.- PRFS2286- Specialist (Financial Systems) Operational- One of the Specialists roles will be responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of the financial systems. This will include responsibilities such as:
- Monitoring and managing interfaces
- Troubleshooting and identifying any issues (workflow, access, etc)
- Maintaining access and authority controls
- Managing routine tasks and processes
- Supporting users to get the best out of the system by way of training and advice
- Regular communications to user base and stakeholders
- Future version release/update testing
- GPFS1056 - Specialist (Financial Systems) Development- The other Specialist role will be responsible for the on-going development and enhancement to the functionality currently being utilised. The responsibilities for this role will be:
- To lead the developments as per the priorities identified
- To independently explore system capabilities to identify new improvements and solutions
- To engage with stakeholders throughout all development stages
- To engage with internal IT resources and software supplier consultants to successfully implement desired outcomes
- Supporting end users following any developments by way of training and production of guidance
- The two Specialists role will work closely together and there may be some cross over between the operational and development roles.- About You- For both of these roles, you will have the following skills or experience:
- Experience of working with finance systems (Unit4 ERP would be advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to understand best practice business processes and challenge the status quo
- Strong communication skills with staff and stakeholders at all levels
- Effective relationship management skills
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Competent advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to interpret complex information
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads- The council offers flexible working arrangements but the roles may involve occasional travelling to other council offices. During the initial period of employment it will be necessary to have a period of time working permanently within the Scunthorpe office to allow for knowledge transfer and onboarding to take place. Following this initial phase, agile working arrangements will then apply.
