Leisure Assistant

Kirkby Lonsdale Health Club is currently recruiting a Leisure Assistant (s) to join their friendly team. As a Leisure Assistant you will have an interest in the leisure/fitness and or swimming industry. You will be required to do a variety of tasks from unlocking/locking the Health Club and preparing it for its daily use. Checking supplies and checking everything is perfect for our members and customers. Then, once the day is in full swing, Leisure Assistants help ensure it’s all running as it should be - handling customer queries, working as a team to ensure the successful operation of the gym, pool and other facilities.

You need to be calm under pressure, responsible and a natural with people from all walks of life.

The job requires:

- A can-do attitude.
- An ability to maintain a good and positive image of the centre to customers and the public by providing a welcoming, helpful and professional pool and operational service.
- An ability to assist customers with the use of the facilities and activities and to encourage the use of the Club.
- Preparing areas and equipment for sessions as appropriate.
- Taking part in ensuring that security, general cleanliness, customer supervision and equipment checks are maintained.
- Ensuring all pool safety / operating procedures are in place.
- Maintaining all ‘good housekeeping’ systems and assist management to effect improvement plans for energy conservation and resource maximisation.
- Learning how to manage the Club’s membership management/booking and purchasing software.
- Learning how to and then carry out water sampling, following the instructions of the Management.
- Learning basic skills within the plant room.
- Ensuring that all areas, including changing rooms and café are kept clean and tidy.
- Being safety conscious at all times and ensuring the safety of Club users.

What we are looking for is someone that:

- Has a genuine interest in health and fitness.
- Is friendly and enthusiastic.
- Is smart and presentable and able to represent the Club well to all visitors.

We operate 7 days a week and shifts can cover early morning and into the evening. All staff are expected to be flexible to assist with the smooth running of the Club including weekend shifts (on rota).

Pay between £17,888 and £24,960 pa (based on 40 hours/week) - depending on current skills/age. Pro rata for a possible position at

33 hours per week

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £8.94-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
