We currently have a great opportunity for a Vessel Planner to join our team here in Southampton. This role Is an integral part of DP World as it assists in the efficient and effective running of the port’s terminal operation. We are looking for a confident individual, with planning experience, that wants to expand their knowledge and further their career with us.

This is a day shift only role, working 12-hour shifts, covering both weekdays and weekends Good news is that you get every other weekend off

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Plan the discharge and load sequences of ships to minimize port stay with the resources available
- Make amendments to the stow at the pre plan stage and after the stowage coordinator/chief officer has reviewed
- Be the first point of contact for Vessel Command, visiting the vessel on arrival with the stowage plan for approved prior to loading and adjusting as required
- Produce relevant paperwork & PDF’s
- Deal with queries from Vessel Command, Agencies, Shipping Lines, Government Authorities etc
- Arrive and depart vessels correctly
- Produce administrative reports accurately to complete statistical records. Provide a complete and through hand over. Train new and existing employees
- Gain a full understanding of Zodiac Navis Ship Editor and Vessel Config and be responsible for building new vessel classes (NSD files)

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Knowledge and understanding of Navis or Zodiac would be desirable
- Planner experience
- Good communication and administrative skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads
- No unspent criminal convictions
- Able to meet the safety critical medical and fitness requirements of the role which include but are not limited to, weight, height, blood pressure, hearing & certain food allergies
