WMC is a home for the arts in Wales, and a cauldron of creativity for the nation. **About WMC/Our Department**:
The Creative Learning team produce the Centre’s creative output and learning programmes for young people aged 11-25yrs old, with a focus on working with young people who identify as belonging to the Welsh Governments protected characteristics groups.

The team run the brand-new Platfform spaces for young people at Wales Millennium Centre supporting them to amplify their voices, grow their confidence, develop new skills for work and skills for life through the transformative power of arts and creativity. We provide young creatives with expert training, access to industry and space to practice and develop work, and to network across the key areas of: Radio, Performance, Music, Digital, Screen, and Visual Arts.

With the current development of new studio spaces, the team will continue to provide a hub for young creatives as a catalyst for youth enterprise, acting as a springboard for the next generation’s future ambition. Whether designing a workshop programme, taking groups of young people to see new work, or supporting facilitators to deliver our courses, our work is centred around co-collaboration with young people and their development, whether new to the arts, or someone looking for a career in the creative industries.

**About the Role and Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate accessibility to the arts and its benefits, by project managing, and taking a lead producer role on allocated aspects of our learning and participation projects, workshops and courses for key target audiences set out in the Creative Learning strategy, plus the development of the programme, and the Platfform makerspaces.
- In the first 12 months in role, you will deliver the programme for one aspect of the Creative Learning strategy, supporting the other areas, and further developing the allocated strand in line with the Creative Learning and Platffrom programme. This will include an agreed increased target of new participants, partners, and collaborative projects.Develop and maintain key relationships with community, youth agencies and young people to inform, drive use, and deepen future engagement with young people across Wales.
- This role reports to the Senior Producer for Creative Learning, whilst also working closely with the wider Creative Learning team, the Arts & Creative teams, and Advisors to develop the overall program and strategy.
- The role will support across all of Creative Learning’s programmes and projects, and the upcoming challenges of operating the programme throughout the development of Platfform makerspaces.
- This role can be delivered on a hybrid-basis (post probationary period) and within the operational demands of the Creative Learning programme they will be able to work on our flexitime policy.
- This role requires an enhanced DBS check.

**Key Requirements**:

- Specialist understanding of our key target audiences (Young People aged 11-25 years) with a specific view to breaking down barriers to attainment. (e.g. from areas of deprivation, Global Majority, young people outside mainstream education.)
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and to travel throughout Wales and the UK is vital, including overnight stays on location as required.
- Knowledge, understanding and passion for: non-formal / self-directed learning, engaging with young people of all abilities, community development and participation.
