Wiltshire, United Kingdom Aster Group Full time

**The Opportunity**:
Safety, compliance and reporting. If these three things get you out of bed in the morning, then we might have the perfect opportunity for you

We have an exciting new opportunity within our Landlord Health and Safety team as a Health and Safety Officer.

Your role will be to ensure that we are doing the very best for our customers when it comes to providing safe homes.

**What you’ll be doing**

As our new Health and Safety officer, you will play a vital role in improving people’s safety at home, through extensive site inspections and analysis of compliance evidence.

You will need to be organised and used to effectively managing your own time to allow you to ensure that we are meting regulatory compliance frameworks. Where this is a newly created position, you will have the opportunity to shape this role moving forward.

In this role, you will retrieve property information and compliance evidence using our data systems, inspect completed compliance activities and report back with findings. You will then action any areas of concern with relevant departments and stakeholders.

You will work in collaboration with the property safety team and corroborate various data sources to ensure that there is one source of the truth

We are looking for someone with an eye for detail that can work with autonomy to deliver a service that ensures the safety of our customers. Could this be you?

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience improving the safety of people’s homes and a strong background of site inspections. A passion for safety is a must for this role

You will also need to be adept in the reporting of data from multiple sources, in order to inform timely and effective decision making when issues are found.

We will need you to be an independent thinker that can manage their own time effectively and communicate with a variety of stakeholders including internal teams, local authorities and our customers.

There is a requirement to travel for this role, so you will need to have a driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

**What’s in it for me**

We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:

- Flexible working - whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them, their team and our business’ needs
- A focus on colleague wellbeing - workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, virtual GP services, mental health training and a health cash plan
- We invest in colleagues’ careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks
- Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance
- Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back
- Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more
- Enhanced leave
- We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised recognition initiatives, and monthly and annual awards.

**Ready to apply?**

To apply, please use information provided in the advert and role profile to let us know why you’d be good for the job. Please submit a copy of your up-to-date CV along with a supporting statement.

We create an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and believe that creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do.

At present all interviews are being held using Microsoft Teams.
