**Job description**

**Overview of the Position / Key Responsibilities**

Provide administrative support to the KBS Finance Team. Responsibilities to include:
Business Partnering - Develop an understanding of the business being supported, being proactive to learn about products / services / markets

Production of MI, data analysis and other reporting for to further assist the understanding of engagement performance as appropriate

Support the business with complex process and administration queries and requests which are outside of the scope of EXL SoW

Assist with the analysis of cost reports on a monthly basis, arranging for the necessary journal transfers to be made.

Support the Finance work-stream in relation to Business planning, budgeting, and forecasting

Assisting with accounts payable processing, including validation, and coding of supplier invoices and ensuring that they are processed within agreed timescales

Process recharges for KBS costs and issue fee notes where required for external and inter office recharges

Chasing of outstanding sundry fee notes

Assist with the reconciliation of project accounts on a monthly basis

Assist with the preparation of month end journals

Provide nonstandard reports to the business as required

Review lending and borrowing reports for mis-postings and ensure time transfers are processed as appropriate.

Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports/statistics as required by the Finance manager.

Provide a point of contact for the Finance team for internal and external clients and suppliers responding effectively to general enquiries. Provide information to all management levels

Undertake ad hoc projects as directed by Finance Manager.

Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be deemed to come within the scope of the post.

Help to ensure Finance processes and policies are adhered to. Escalate deviation and always be forward thinking about improvements

Play a role in the broader finance community, including active participation in meetings, forums and projects

Be an advocate for change programmes delivered by Finance / KBS, including automation tools, self-service, standardisation and any other changes in ways of working

Any other financial administration duties relevant to the business finance agenda or that have a broader commercial implication

**The Person**
- Good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving

Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

Knowledge of SAP desirable

Is responsible for own work

Observes and feeds back processes that are inefficient

Remains calm under pressure

Is resilient when meets opposition from client service teams who have other priorities

Takes ownership for own performance and identifies areas for improvement and development

Shares experiences and knowledge with others

Keeps the Finance Manager informed of progress and issues

Works as a team with other administrators to provide cover where necessary

Participates in team activities

Asks questions to get to heart of issue and report back to Finance Manager

Checks data for accuracy and completeness

Is able to communicate with a variety of clients at all levels

Has the confidence to undertake face to face meetings with managers and partners

Works to deadlines

Can change workload to match changing priorities

Can adapt to new systems and procedures

**Qualifications and Experience**

AAT (part) qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.

Minimum of 1 year's experience
