Your main task will be to advise on the completion of Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) as required by law. **Job Summary**

The Compliance and Assurance Pillar is a department situated in the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ), which supports the CT Policing Network, Specialist Operations business groups within the MPS and pillars within CTPHQ.

The Equality Impact Assessment Unit is responsible for the strategic management and tactical delivery of CTP’s legal obligations as set out by the Equality legislation. This includes research and tactical projects and to facilitate a program of continuous improvement.

The Unit’s main responsibilities include;
- To provide, advise & guide on all matters relating to the exchange of information in accordance with the relevant legislation and completion of Equality Impact Assessments (EIA) as required under Equality legislation across the CT Policing Network
- To quality assure EIA’s and install a checklist process to ensure compliance, including a regime that provides regular reviews are undertaken
- To promote best practice and provide a consistent approach to Equality Impact Assessment across the CT Policing Network
- To identify, advise & support the development of all Equality Impact Assessments between CT Policing and partners
- To lead on the development and maintenance of the CT EIA register and work with the wider CTPHQ to mitigate risks. Lead local planning, and manage risks and dependencies
- To ensure policies, processes and professional expertise to monitor, coordinate and deliver business related Equality Assessment issues across the CT Policing Network
- To develop a close working relationship with SO Commands/CTPHQ and Organisational Guidance Documents to ensure that the protocols of EIA’s are being adhered to

The role holder will ensure Equality Impact Assessments comply with current legislation, whilst still enabling effective collaboration with CTP’s partner organisations. Other responsibilities include risk management of remediation actions and plans, policy management and advice and supporting EIA training.

**Key Tasks**

The post holder will be required to do the following:
Key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

- Provide expert advice and guidance on all matters relating to the exchange of information in accordance with the relevant legislation and policy
- Advise the business regarding the completion of Equality Impact Assessments (EIA) as required under Equality legislation
- Quality assure all EIAs and ensure any recommendations identified are implemented and/or mitigated
- Conduct audits of completed EIAs and support annual compliance review and controls testing
- Support maintenance of Equality risks and controls on the risk register
- Record and track risk remediation plans
- Support communications initiatives which raise awareness of changes and developments to policies
- Maintain intranet pages for documents and queries
- Ad-hoc tasks as directed by the EA Team Lead

There may be some travel across the CT Policing Network.

**Vetting**

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access.
