**About The Role**
Harm reduction outreach worker. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic outreach team covering County Durham.
- To deliver services to those affected by substance use to support and reduce the harm caused by their substance use. This includes individuals who have not accessed treatment and those who have repeatedly not attended appointments with alcohol and drug treatment providers, and have complex and multiple needs.
- To support the people who use our needle exchanges across the County. To encourage the participation of wider stakeholders so that Harm Reduction is important to everyone, including pharmacies, community drop ins, housing and criminal justice teams.
- Widening the offer of harm reduction including needle exchange, BBV screening and increasing the provision of naloxone in County Durham and ensuring that every contact counts.
- **Duties can include**:

- Develop and deliver quality psychosocial interventions that meet local need across both group work and one to one formats.
- Support delivery of key service functions through actively participating in duty worker, needle exchange and access to testing and immunisation service provision.
- Promote visible recovery across the service and ensure peer support opportunities are relevant and accessible for all service users.
- Carry out drug screening and testing when required.
