_Independent Visitor volunteer - Herefordshire _
**Could you befriend and support a child in care? Would you like to make a difference to a young person’s life? This role is open to anyone across Herefordshire.**

**We’re looking for volunteers of all ages and from all walks of like to be part of our Herefordshire Independent Visiting service. You will visit a young person monthly for a few hours and all expenses will be reimbursed. You will need to be able to drive and have access to a car and to be able to make a minimum of 2 years commitment.**

As a volunteer Independent Visitor (IV), you will become a reliable and consistent point of contact for a child in care who has limited or no family contact.

IV's visit their matched child or young person either at home, or somewhere agreed, on a regular basis and enjoy an activity together such as; (bowling, football, park, or rock climbing).

Often Independent Visitors are the only person in a child or young person’s life that is not paid to be there.

We work with children and young people across the county who are waiting to be matched

**Making a positive difference to the life of a child or young person is an amazing feeling, but by volunteering as an Independent Visitor you'll also**:

- make new friends and create unforgettable happy, fun experiences
- attend training and regular support meetings with your volunteer IV Coordinator
- have all of your expenses covered
- be able to easily fit your volunteering around your other commitments

If you are able to spare a few hours once a month for a minimum of 2 years, and enjoy the company of young people can empathise, be supportive and be able to have fun This could be the role for you.
