Production Planner

**Summary**
An opportunity has arisen for a Demand Planner within the Planning department at Cranswick Convenience Foods Sutton Fields. The Demand Planner role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of the S&OP process and for creating & maintaining the forecast for all customers, finished pack sku’s and any known NPD.
**Main duties include (but not limited to)**:
- Responsible for implementation of formal Demand plan process and for creating a robust 12 to18-month demand plan utilising commercial, marketing, customer InSite and supply insight to support the overall business planning processes
- Develop a 12 to 18-month demand plan utilising the functionality of the Microsoft NAV forecasting tool at SKU level in volume and value, working closely with finance on a monthly basis to deliver high quality data and InSite for the S&OP meeting
- Create close relationships with all relevant customer contacts, being very clear around what their information flow should be and why and challenge forecasts were applicable
- Controlling and managing short term forecast changes, challenging and trying to deliver high short term forecast accuracy (Absolute)
- Set up and manage monthly commercial and customer meetings to review the forward forecast and challenging were applicable and implement any changes and escalating were agreement cannot be made prior to presentation at the demand planning meeting
- Work with the supply chain manager and commercial controller, sales team, Marketing and Finance to align behind one unconstrained consensus demand plan ready for submission to the supply function
- Prepare reports & analysis to enable informed decision making in the commercial environment that are based upon the demand plan
- Look to continually develop the forecasting process through any and all means necessary
**Requirements, experience and person specification**:
- Previous planning/scheduling or data management experience in a reactive environment
- Excellent communication skills and evidence of multidisciplinary working and process improvement
- Be able to prioritise, manage deadlines and make decisions in time pressured situations
- Proactive approach to challenges
- Good problem-solving skills and a logical and proactive approach to challenges
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel, and a proven ability to learn and work with in house systems.
- Knowledge of Food Quality and Health & Safety standards
