**Staffordshire Crane Hire Ltd - Hire Desk Controller - Job Description**

**Reports to**: Company Director/Technical Sales Manager

**Based at**: Watling Street Works, Watling Street, Brownhills, Walsall, WS8 7JT.

**Job purpose**: To act as the first point of contact in a pivotal cross functional role, to drive business success by building strong customer relationships, understanding their hire needs and ensuring we can meet them. Consistently working to ensure that on site requirements are met for mobile crane CPA hire and contract lifting. While exact responsibilities will vary based on the changing needs of an expanding business, the main duties are summarised as below.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the Hire Desk and rehire processes, including maintenance and growth of new and existing clients from a range of sectors. Dealing with Hire Desk processes, queries, order processing, scheduling and developing rehire business.
- Ensuring best practices are upheld at all times and that all working methods are HSE compliant and in line with Company policies and working practices.
- Effective liaison and communication with operators, customers and key contacts, at all times promoting a positive Cany image and “can do” attitude to work towards finding appropriate solutions. Investigate and escalate enquiries from customers and suppliers and assist as required.
- Responsible for maintenance escalation to the appropriate team and reporting any incidents relating to health and safety and any losses or damage to equipment, with an awareness at all times of availability of machinery and labour.
- All administration relating to the implementation, recording and execution of daily job requirements, and coordinating all relevant paperwork on return of operatives on a daily basis (timesheets, job/contract details). Ensuring that all information is maintained and processed in accordance with internal, legislative and industry procedures.
- This is not an exhaustive list and the role may involve performing other tasks relevant to the role within the business, or any other reasonable request made by Management._

**Specifics**:

- An understanding of lift requirements/plans would be advantageous. Previous experience on a Hire Desk essential. Rate of pay dependent on skills and experience. Must be dedicated and committed to developing the role, making a contribution to a growing business and ensuring that repeat orders are managed efficiently.
- Full time (40 hours per week), permanent, based around core Company hours (8am-4pm). Start and finish times of operational roles vary in accordance with business needs, staggered from 6am however most customer queries and calls require coverage from 8am.
- Additional hours/OT and weekend work may be required and recompensed accordingly.
